Ms Elaine Marie Debono Chairperson Domestic & Compliance Sub-Committee
Elaine is an ACCA-qualified accountant with over 14 years of experience in the field of taxation. She began her career in 2008 with one of the Big Four accounting firms as an ACCA trainee and joined Forvis Mazars Malta in 2014, where she has continued to develop her expertise in tax advisory and compliance services.
Throughout her career, Elaine has assisted a diverse portfolio of local and international clients in meeting their statutory fiscal obligations across a wide range of sectors. She currently advises both corporate and private clients on domestic and international tax matters, providing practical solutions tailored to their specific business and personal circumstances.
In addition to her professional practice, Elaine has made a significant contribution to tax education in Malta. She has lectured the Advanced Taxation module for students preparing for their ACCA examinations, as well as delivering lectures forming part of the Tax Compliance Diploma and the Course on Personal Taxation, both organised by the Malta Institute of Taxation.
Elaine is also actively involved in the Maltese tax profession and is a member of the Direct Tax Committee (Domestic and Compliance Sub-Committee) of the Malta Institute of Taxation, where she contributes to discussions and initiatives relating to domestic tax policy and compliance matters.
